Circle the Wagons Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Not sure if circling the wagons really conserves body heat, but it works for buffalo and penguins. You can pretty much achieve the same effect if you sit real close together at the Placitas Cafe. I mean REALLY, REALLY CLOSE. Try it!

Is that a balloon that just drifted by my window? Yep, it's Balloon Fiesta time again. The nights are cool, the days are warm and the aspens are turning. It has to be one of the best months to be in New Mexico.

Monsoon season is winding down, the sun is rising later, and the temps are getting cooler. It's a great time to hang out at the Cafe and listen to some tunes while you enjoy some fine food and tasty libations.

It's nice and dry in the Cafe but the beer is nice and wet. It's the perfect combination (less wet, more taste).

The Question Mark will entertain you on Tuesday, August 6th, from 6 to 8p.m. If you have to ask, you don't want to know. So don't ask. This is either a big inside joke, or we don't really know who the hell is playing that night. But it's pizza night, so that should be good enough!

Cheap and Easy has switched from Tuesdays to Friday for the month of February, so you can catch them on Friday, February 1, 6-8 pm, singing all their greatest hits along with some new tunes. Come in out of the cold and warm the cockles of your heart (anybody know what cockles really are? please tell me it has nothing to do with snails). See you there and hold the mollusks!

Haiku Cowboys will be bringing their distinctive sound back to the Cafe on Friday February 8, from 6 to 8 pm. If you got the time, they got the rhyme. Yeah, yeah, we know. Haiku are supposed to be 3 lines, but we're old school and that means we're going with ABAB schemes here.



 
RockZone will be back on Friday (AKA Fryday) February 15th, 6 to 8 pm. This falling rock zone includes classic rock, blues and country music. We like to think you can really rock out and get in the zone, but without getting crushed (or stoned).

Sage is on stage Friday February 22nd, from 6 to 8 pm, singing some fine contemporary and traditional music along with a bit of country and light rock. Come for the mellowness and feed your body and your spirit.

Cold Hands? Try Clapping. At the Café, That Is

It's a New Year and you know what that means. Right, it's a great, big, giant DO-OVER!! If you didn't like 2012, you get to try it again in 2013. That's the great thing about New Years....you can forget all your screw-ups and start with a clean slate.

Sit.Stay will be playing on Friday January 4, from 6 to 8 pm. They do a lot of tricks, but fetch is not one of them.

Haiku Cowboys will be bringing their distinctive sound back to the Cafe on Friday January 11, from 6 to 8 pm. If you don't know how to rhyme, you'll still have a good time.

Cheap and Easy is going to be back on Tuesday, January 15, 6-8 pm and no doubt will have some new tunes to herald in the New Year. Warm up by the fire (okay, there is no fire, except maybe in the kitchen) and enjoy their great music. Note to Pizza Lovers: Tuesday is always Pizza Nite so you get to pick your favorite toppings for a very friendly price.
