So Long 2014, Hello 2015

You had us at hello. I mean come on, who doesn't like a chance to wipe the slate clean and start over? It's like Groundhog Day here every day at the Cafe, so we're right at home with the slate-cleaning thing. Or maybe it's short-term memory loss, I can't remember.


On Friday, Jan 2nd, Scott's Band will be performing from
6 - 8 pm.

On Friday, Jan 9th, the Olde & In The Way will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. They play familiar songs from the 6os-70s-and 80s from lots of genres. They don't look that old but they are blocking the damn door.



 

On Tuesday, Jan 13th, Todd Tijerina will be performing his unique blend of blues, funk, roots-rock and jazz from
6 - 8 pm.

On Friday, Jan 16th, Acoustic DNA will be performing from 6 - 8 pm.

On Friday, Jan 23rd, Bohemian Sol will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. and warm up an otherwise cold night in January. You won't need your mittens and they make it hard to clap anyway.



On Friday, Jan 30th, Judie and Jorge will be performing from 6 - 8 pm.

Thanks, No Thank You, NO, Thank You, NO, NO Thank You

This is the month where we give thanks, unless you're not feeling thankful. But we are, so we think you'll be thanking us for the great entertainment we have lined up this month.

Tuesday, Nov 4th, get out there an VOTE if you haven't already done so. You can't complain if you're not in the game.

On Friday, Nov 28th, we're thankfully closed for Thanksgiving. Go get yourself some turkey and we'll see you on the flipside. Oh, and thanks a bunch for supporting our entertainers and appreciating the Placitas Cafe. We appreciate you too!

Is That a Balloon in My Backyard or Are You Just Glad to See Me?

The aspens have turned on the North side of the Sandias so it must be Balloon Fiesta time. Don't own a balloon? No problem. Come to the Placitas Cafe and you can drown your sorrows in a pint of great beer or your favorite vino. And do it all while listening to some great live music! Stick that in your dirigible!

On Friday, Oct 3rd, RockZonE will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. Falling rock is actually a lot safer than a balloon falling on you.







On Tuesday, Oct 7th, Anna N will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. Don't know what the N stands for....nice....native.... nameless. Come by and ask her yourself.




On Friday, Oct 10th, Acoustic DNA will be performing from 6 - 8 pm.









On Friday, Oct 17th, Ariana will be singing songs while playing the piano (while balancing three cats yodeling from a chandelier -- OK, made that part up) from 6 - 8 pm.

On Friday Oct 24th, 6 to 8 pm. Claystone, the musical duo of Kent Gurle and Doug Davidson, will be performing their acoustical harmonies.







Friday Oct 31st, Haiku Cowboys will be performing from 6 to 8 pm. Their foot stomping desert rock will have you on your feet...steel toed shoes optional.

Fall Is In The Air -- Or Not, Who Knows

Pretty soon the aspens will be turning yellow up on the Sandias and there's no better place to enjoy the scenery than the porch outside the Cafe. The view inside is pretty darn good as well.


Friday, Sept 5th, The Nancy Show will be performing from 6 to 8 pm. Play show and tell with her...but be nice.



Friday, Sept 12th, Bob Gusch will be performing from 6 to 8 pm. He's known for his Brazilian jazz licks with the group Saudade, but will solo for you on his many woodwinds. And maybe some Dixieland as well.

On Friday, Sept 19th, the Old Guys will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. They play familiar songs from the 6os-70s-and 80s from lots of genres. Don't know who the guys are in the picture at right, but they look like old guys who could sing. Come down to the Cafe and find out what they really look like.

Enough Sense to Get Out of the Rain?

So the rains have come, but this time it really does feel like "monsoon season" is the right name for it. As much as we like it, it does make sense to come in out of the rain, and what better place is there to do that then the Placitas Cafe?

On Friday, August 1st, RockZonE will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. If you don't fall for their music, you must not be in the zone.






 
On Friday, August 8th, Righteous Men will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. No bibles necessary but bring your tapping toes on down.

On Tuesday, August 12th, Todd Tijerina will be performing his unique blend of blues, funk, roots-rock and jazz from 6 - 8 pm.








On Friday, August 15th, Judy and Jorge will be performing from 6 - 8 pm.




Friday August 22nd, Haiku Cowboys will be performing from 6 to 8 pm. Their sound could be pure poetry if it didn't have to rhyme and be only 3 lines.
 


On Tuesday, August 26th, Ariana will be singing songs while playing the piano (can you do that? how about while chewing gum? I thought so.) from 6 - 8 pm.

On Friday, August 29th, Bohemian Sol will be at the Cafe from 6 - 8 pm. and even if it's raining, they bring on the sol.

Big Bang Theory Works Best in July

Hot as a firecracker on a two-lane blacktop. Hotter than a whipped tail lizard on a tin roof. Hotter than a fox in a forest fire (G-rated version). You get the picture? July is hot!! So come down to the Cafe where the AC is free and the living is easy. And we got ICE, so CHILLAX!

Summer Is Busting Out All Over!

Summer is a great time to visit the Cafe and grab one of those outdoor tables (dogs welcome, by the way). Enjoy some fine food and libations while you take in the fantastic view of the Sandias. With the great music wafting out the door, you even get a great soundtrack to go with the great view.
